Some things can only discover their true form by enduring hardship. Not just because they get through it, but because of how they get through it, what they have to do, and how it changes them. Perhaps this isn’t just true for diamonds and pearls, it’s true for most things.
Take a relationship for example. A relationship is revealed most under the pressure of responsibility and sacrifice. Through that process and experience a relationship is discovered. Hardship forces the relationship to deal with the difficulty and learn how to come together or instead splinter apart.
Any group or team must be similarly tested in an extended way to discover its authentic identity. Then the people in the group must decide how to deal with it. What emerges is the state of the group. From there it will learn how to work better together or it won’t.
Hardship reveals. Difficulty teaches. Pressure shapes.
