Whenever someone says, “That’s a good idea”, a critical reminder flashes through my mind. Because what they mean is, “That would be a good idea . . . if we executed it well.”
But people don’t often say that. They leave that part out. So ideas get more attention and credit than they deserve.
What is a “good” idea worth if it doesn’t get executed? Nothing. Ideas aren’t good or bad. They’re a conceptual suggestion. It’s the impact behind their execution that’s good or bad, useful or useless, powerful or weak.
Ideas don’t produce. Execution does. Ideas are overrated. Execution is everything.
