Learning How To Forgive

It’s generally understood that carrying any form of anger and resentment is a heavy burden. Still many people continue to feed the rage in their hearts, adding more and more weight to their self-imposed, unnecessary load.

No matter who they are, what they did, how you believe they wronged you, or why they did it, you gain no value by keeping the fire of your internal aggravation alive. There is no positive impact from holding resentment in your heart. Not even a single flame of righteous anger will give you warmth. It will only burn you.

More dangerous than the anger we carry towards others is the anger we might be carrying for ourselves.

There’s nothing heavier than the weight of self-judgment. Angry at our own mistakes. Resentful of our perceived deficiencies. Impatient with our own imperfections. Quietly, privately, painfully furious at ourselves for some of the choices we’ve made.

The best way to release that weight and relieve yourself of that unnecessary burden is through forgiveness.

Through grace and forgiveness for others, you learn how to give grace and forgiveness to yourself too.

Everything is training for something. Do the work.
