You can believe anything. That doesn’t mean you should, though. Sometimes, the things you tell yourself are dangerous to believe. Your own thoughts will generate beliefs that undermine the things you want most.
You might tell yourself that something is preventing you from acting with discipline. That is false. No obstacle stands in your way. The only thing between you and the discipline you need is the story you’re telling yourself.
You don’t need a more ideal setting to practice discipline. You need a new belief. You need stronger discipline for the setting you have. You don’t need a new environment. You need a new mindset. If your environment changes but you don’t, you end up in the same situation, just in a new environment.
You can live with excellence now, where you are.
That’s hard for some people to believe. If you block the external noise and silence your mind, you will recognize this truth yourself. Your mind may try to persuade you otherwise, but your heart will tell you it’s true.
Brick by brick. Do the work.
