Prepare Yourself For What’s Ahead

Yesterday I suggested that we don't need to discover new effective behaviors. The behaviors we need most right now were learned and taught many millennia ago. Navigating the immediate and thriving in the future requires a renewal of specific, timeless behavior skills.

Tomorrow I will share five behaviors skills I see as critically important for you. You won't want to miss it.

There are two reasons why reflecting on and recommitting to enduring virtues is necessary now more than ever:

  1. The environment around you is loud, persuasive, and is creeping deeper and broader into every crevice of your life. If you're not highly skilled and well trained, the environment will keep chiseling away at your discipline, strength, and fulfillment. It has probably already started.
  2. Generally speaking, people are drifting away from a disciplined commitment to timeless virtues in favor of new fads, preferring entertainment and the empty display of signaling virtue without proving it or paying the price. Now is your chance to lead. Now is your chance to take back your mind, reset your habits, and reground your life. Regain control, not of the world, but of yourself in the world. Be a light for others to see. You will create an impact far beyond yourself if you do.

Come back tomorrow because I'll share the five skills I recommend for blocking out the noise, cutting through the fog, and prioritizing what matters. It could be a turning point in your life.

Answer the call. Do the work.
