If you had a guarantee before you started that you would accomplish everything you want and get everything you desire, life would lose 90% of its fun, meaning, and fulfillment.
Rewards would lose their rewarding qualities. Because it’s not just having the reward that makes us feel good. It’s earning the reward when there is a real chance of losing it. Everything it takes to accomplish an objective and everything we risk defines the emotions and meaning of the rewards that come with it.
We think we want guarantees, but we don’t. We want purpose and meaning. Though you may be afraid, stepping forward into uncertainty without a guarantee of success is a step closer to not only your goal but also to your purpose.
The time is now. Do the work.
