Proof through action is the only reliable filter for evaluating a belief. It’s the price of entry for credibility. Behavior that doesn’t match stated beliefs simply isn’t credible. The larger the gap between the stated belief and the observed behavior, the lower the credibility. The depth of your belief is only measured by the discipline of your action. Deep beliefs are demonstrated through disciplined action. They have a high price, incredible value, and are hard to fake in action. This is the “talk the talk, walk the walk” approach. It does not come cheaply and it filters out the weak of heart.

Shallow beliefs are revealed by the absence of disciplined action. They don’t cost much, have little value, and are easy to fake with words. This is the “do as I say, not as I do” approach.
The only true test for believing something is actually doing it. If you’re not willing to pay a price for it, then you don’t really believe in it. That can be a hard pill to swallow for some people, but it’s true. It’s the best filter for, first, what you really believe, and second, what others really believe.
