The Reality of Choice

Two paths exist for the disciplined person:

  1. The higher standard.
  2. The lower standard.

It's a choice to exert effort toward a higher standard or preserve comfort and convenience through a lower standard.

In every waking moment, you decide which path to take -- discipline or default, the higher road or the lower, the better you or the average you.

Some people suggest that choice is an illusion. They say that you don't have options and choices if you want to be exceptional. I don't believe that. Your whole life is a choice. Many choices can lead to excellence and fulfillment for you. Choices can also lead you to decline and disappointment.

Choice is not an illusion. It's our superpower as humans.

We can't call our greatest gift -- the power of CHOICE -- an illusion. Fate doesn’t bind us to one course of action. We're not limited to a fixed, rigid, pre-determined path to excellence or fulfillment.

If you don't understand your options, the choices you can make, and their impact, then the reality of choice will smack you square in the face. If you don't understand how to choose higher standards and how important it is, then you're at risk of choosing lower standards and wondering why life isn't unfolding how you expect.

Choice won't be an illusion then.

The more you choose lower standards, the more the reality of your choices will be as evident as the air you breathe.

The time is now. Do the work.
