The moment of truth is when you have an opportunity to do the work. If you want good results that’s the moment you need to win. There are mental and emotional moments along the path, of course, but they only put you in position to win one moment. The moment that matters. The moment of action.
That’s how you capture opportunity. That’s how you overcome adversity. That’s how you accomplish your priority objectives. That’s how you improve your experiences. That’s how you shift the shape of your future.
You can’t reach what you’re aiming for or improve what you’re frustrated with by watching opportunities to do the work pass you by day after day. But the obvious truth of that statement does little to change people’s action.
That is losing moments of action. It’s wasting your talent. It’s wasting your time. It’s missing your life.
You’re here, right? You want to engage in purposeful and skillful action in the moments that matter, right? You want your action to create experiences and results you value, right?
Then read this next line one more time . . .
Discipline is the shortcut. Do the work.
