Don’t hide from your life

You don’t know where you’re going when you run from something instead of to something. You know what you’re moving away from but not what you’re moving toward. That is a big problem. Bigger than you realize.

It creates two serious problems:

  1. You end up nowhere near where you want or need to be.
  2. You run yourself into worse situations than you were running from.

When you run from something, your aim is behind you and so is your gaze, opposite of the direction you’re moving. You don’t walk that way. You wouldn’t drive that way. You can’t aim anything that way.

So why live that way?

When you run from something, you’re in retreat. It’s a defensive move. You hide from your life. When you run to something, you’re in pursuit. It’s an offensive move. You engage with your life.

Keep your aim ahead of you and move toward things of purpose and value.

Event + Response = Outcome. Do the work.
