Let’s say you have 50 urgent priorities. What’s the best way to accomplish 50 urgent priorities?
That’s the wrong question.
Try to accomplish 50 priorities and you actually accomplish none of them. At least not at your best, on time, or with your mental health in good place. What you will accomplish is making mistakes that add more weight to your already overwhelmed priority list.
When you feel overwhelmed by what you have to do, whether it’s two priorities or 200, return to the same two questions:
- Which priority am I going to act on right now? Decide.
- How do I make the most progress I can on that priority with the immediate time I have available? Act.
