Everything you do takes energy. Thinking, feeling, doing, changing, interacting. It all takes energy. Your energy.

Are you using your energy on the right priorities for you? Do you have enough energy?

There are hundreds of potentially useful ways to create the energy you need to do what you need to do.

Start with low-hanging fruit: Don’t waste valuable energy on things you can’t control or things that don’t have any serious impact on your life. You quite literally can’t afford it in any sense of the word. Less energy into things of lower value means more energy into things of higher value.

If that seems obvious, good. Just about everyone recognizes it as obvious. But you can’t stop there. That’s where everyone else stops, with a shallow realization, as they continue to squander their energy on empty shadows.

No matter how many times you read it or how often you say it, acting on this obvious principle is all that counts and is still a rare discipline for anyone to execute.

Everything is training for something. Do the work.
