A quick exercise to drive self-awareness, self-discipline, and self-confidence.

First write down the:

  • 3 best things about your life right now.
  • 3 most frustrating things about your life right now.
  • 3 best opportunities you have in the next year.

Next create three columns:

  • I control this.
  • I influence this but can’t control it.
  • I don’t control or influence this.

Finally, decisively move each of the nine things you wrote down to one of the three columns. The one it best fits.

Discipline is the shortcut. Do the work.
