Communicate your wants to people, but their decisions are theirs to make according to who they are, not who you want them to be. Your wants are not the main character and central theme of someone else's life.
All you can do with standards is set, encourage, teach, and enforce them. You can't make anyone else like or agree with your standards. Your best chance is to use the standard so well that some people recognize the benefit themselves. But no matter what standard you set, many people will not like or agree with it.
You cannot read minds. If you could, you would be using that power for more productive means, right? 90% of the emotional noise in your head is imagining what someone else is thinking and why. That is what causes most of the problems. Stop inventing stories when you don’t know the truth.
The life in front of you dies when you give too much attention to the life behind you. Needing to understand some things from your past does not mean replaying it like a movie on repeat. Put the past down.
Other people already don't approve of everything you do or how you do it. They just don't tell you. When someone does not approve of something you do, it does not mean they hate you. It means they have a different opinion than you.
