The #1 inner discipline to succeed in the outer world

I jumped the gun yesterday. My bad. It was premature of me to list examples of crucial factors in life that are and are not up to you. Truth is, I don't know if you've committed to living that way.

So, let me take a step back in hopes of making a giant leap forward.

If you want to advance any aspect of your life, you cannot afford to pump attention, time, and energy into things you don't control. You just can't.

You must focus all your personal resources almost exclusively on the things that are up to you. The mountains of things not up to you will always be there, ever-present, ever-attention hungry.

Recognize them. Understand them. Navigate through and around them. But do not give them your attention, time, and energy. Put your valuable resources instead into that which is only up to you.

It's a standard a person must set for themselves. An external source like me and this message can only suggest and influence. The decision must come from within you. There is no higher authority capable of supplying it to you.

The discipline comes from you or not at all.

Brick by brick. Do the work.
