The Other Side of Gratitude

Gratitude is usually expressed for the good things in our lives, no matter how simple. We may forget to appreciate them sometimes, but we have structures built into our yearly calendar that bring gratitude front and center.

For those who celebrate it, Thanksgiving is one of those days.

On a day of gratitude, remember to give thanks for the pain that pushed you to grow, the frustrations that sparked you to change, and the crises that thrust you into responsibility.

You are who you are, not only because of the good things in your life but because of everything. That includes those things you may have hated at the moment but were invaluable in forming the strong person you are sitting here now.

If you're better for it, even if it's painful, then it deserves your gratitude today.

Answer the call. Do the work.
