As we discussed last week with discomfort, vulnerability is a vehicle for discovering and delivering value. I don't challenge you to get vulnerable as an inherently valuable activity. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. I'll leave that for others to decide.
Instead, I encourage you to consider the potential positive impact that intentional, purposeful, strategic vulnerability can have on your life:
- Sharing more of your internal experiences.
- Being more honest about what you're feeling.
- Acknowledging your fears and doubts.
- Expressing your wants and needs more openly and directly.
These are just some examples of things that could be incredibly beneficial that we often try to conceal, camouflage, or heavily filter because they feel too vulnerable to say or do.
Vulnerability is not the goal. Vulnerability is a means to an end.
Think of it like a tool. A powerful, life-changing tool. When used with awareness, discipline, and confidence, it can break the strongest chains holding you back.
The time is now. Do the work.
