Elevating your choices above your wants means you are powerful, not immune to desire and impulse, but never a slave to them. Your ability to think and decide for yourself is so strong that you can recognize a want and intentionally choose to set it aside in favor of a more disciplined, effective, or fulfilling response.
If you want a great life, however you define it, your wants must not rule over your choices. Your choices must rule your over wants.
