The alarm rings. Your eyes open. Your mind turns on. You start making decisions. It’s a daily activity. From that moment on you decide what to give attention, when, why, and for how long.

Any object of your attention fits into one or more of three core categories:

  1. Purpose
  2. Relaxation
  3. Entertainment

Raise your awareness and intentionality this week as you choose what to give attention, when, why, and for how long. Try confirming with yourself, before engaging in an activity, which intentional category of attention it serves. It may be more than one.

Discipline is the shortcut. Do the work.
