Do you really want to be a leader?

My friend’s nine year-old daughter is running for school council and asked me, “What makes a good leader?”

My message to her was, “What makes a good leader is someone who takes responsibility for more than themselves.”

The easy, common thing is to think about and do what’s good for you. A leader thinks about and does what’s good for the community, the team, and the people they serve.

Embrace the chase. Do the work.
