How do you “prepare now to face future problems decisively and confidently”? That’s the conversation this week. Here’s a structure you can systematically apply to stay in a strategic frame of mind when you face any problem.

First, establish clarity.

  1. Is this a real problem or something that will naturally pass with time?
  2. Can you solve or contribute to solving this? (Yes or no)
  3. Is it worth your time, attention, and energy to solve or contribute? (Yes or no)

If any of those answers are “NO”, then respond with two primary disciplined options.

  1. Endure it with acceptance and without complaining.
  2. Avoid giving it any time, attention, or energy.

If the answers are yes to the three clarity questions, then respond with two primary disciplined options.

  1. Solve the situation or contribute to the solution.
  2. Correct the root cause.

Endure, avoid, solve, and correct. Stay strategic. Get clarity. Be decisive. Executive confidently.

Discipline is the shortcut. Do the work.
