Find Your Simplicity-Discipline Sweet Spot

People make the process of getting unstuck too complex. Too many factors. Too many calculations. Too many steps. As a result, they overthink and underexecute.

When I feel stuck, here’s what I do. I look for the intersection of:

  1. The most disciplined action
  2. The simplest action

Sometimes the most disciplined action is more complex than I can handle at that moment. Sometimes the simplest action is too weak on discipline. I identify the simplest action that is also strong discipline. Then I do it.

You want early action to feel accessible. You want it to feel doable. It shouldn’t be confusing or overwhelming.

You will find the traction you need for getting unstuck at the intersection of simplicity and discipline. But you’ll need to put effort into finding that intersection for each situation.

Event + Response = Outcome. Do the work.
