Do not comfort the bitter wolf

Among the people who undermine our efforts, one is superior to all others: Ourselves. Our vain defensiveness against others distracts us from the damage we do to ourselves.

We are the ones who force ourselves to secretly carry burdens we can put down at any time. We are the ones who recognize our profound lack of fulfillment yet refuse to stray from our routines. We are the ones who willingly pay with time and money for the things that drag us into anxiety and misery.

We provide the bitter and rabid wolf a home, comforting it while it gnaws away at the heart that welcomes it.

Do not be your own enemy. Do not undermine your effort and destroy your own path.

Brick by brick. Do the work.
